By using IonianCore’s services, you agree to these terms. Our commitment is simple: Your data is yours. We use client-side technology to ensure maximum privacy. Welcome to IonianCore. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, including our browser-based utilities (e.g., PDF Tools, Image Converters), games, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. The "Zero-Upload" Architecture & Data Privacy

IonianCore differentiates itself from traditional online tools through its Local Processing Architecture. Unlike server-side converters that require you to upload your sensitive documents to a cloud server, our tools are engineered to run directly within your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly (WASM).

Because we do not host your files, IonianCore cannot recover lost files once you close your browser tab. The output of any conversion or modification exists solely in your browser's temporary memory (RAM) until you save it to your device.

2. Permitted Use & Intellectual Property

2.1 Ownership of Processed Files

You retain 100% ownership and all intellectual property rights to the files you process using our tools. IonianCore claims no rights, licenses, or interest in your original files or the output generated by our tools (e.g., a converted PDF or optimized image).

2.2 License to Use Services

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use our Services for:

• Personal Use: Unlimited use of our free web applications and games.
• Commercial Use: You are free to use our tools for business purposes (e.g., a graphic designer using our "Image to PDF" tool for a client project). However, you may not resell, redistribute, or wrap our tools inside another application without our written consent.
• Educational Use: Schools and universities are encouraged to use our tools due to their privacy-safe nature for students.

3. User Responsibilities & Prohibited Conduct

While we do not police user content (as we cannot see it), you agree not to use our Services to:

• Process illegal content, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or content that promotes terrorism or violence.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of our WebAssembly modules or JavaScript applications.
• Use automated scripts or "bots" to scrape our website or overload our infrastructure, although our tools function perfectly offline (PWA) once loaded.
• Interfere with the proper operation of the website, including bypassing any security features or ad-blocking detection mechanisms if applicable.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE".

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IonianCore disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Browser Limitations: Because our tools run on your device, performance depends on your hardware and browser capabilities. Converting very large files (e.g., a 1GB PDF) on an older mobile device may cause your browser to crash due to memory limits. IonianCore is not responsible for browser crashes, data loss due to tab closures, or incompatibility with outdated browser versions (e.g., Internet Explorer).

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IonianCore and its founder, Konstantinos Kalamakis, shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services, regardless of the form of the action, is limited to the amount paid by you to use the Services (if any) or ten Euros (€10.00), whichever is greater.

6. Offline Tools & Purchases

Some of our tools may be available for purchase as standalone offline applications (e.g., for Windows/macOS). These purchases are governed by separate End User License Agreements (EULA) provided at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely via third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), and IonianCore does not store your credit card information.

7. Advertisements & Third-Party Links

To keep our web tools free, we display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and other partners. These services may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how you can control personalized advertising.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by IonianCore. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction: Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these Terms or the Services shall be instituted exclusively in the courts of Patras, Greece (Achaia). You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to venue in such courts.
